Ecommerce - Evolving through the times

What people tend to realize is that Internet has been around for the longest time.  Internet was around as early as the late 90’s. It only evolved later on. Actually, it only started mature and takes a full shift during the mid-2000 but initially on the western side especially in the Ecommerce industry. With the penetration of social media, it even went to new heights as the online population increased exponentially. Online shopping was only later adapted in South East Asia the last couple of years.

But does online shopping justify our needs in our shopping needs over traditional shopping? Most of us would have avoided online shopping if this was asked a few years ago. It is essential that online malls have good credibility in order for customers to consider them. Customers just have a tendency to be very cautious in shopping online as a lot of online stores turn out to be scams in the past. Unlike other countries, there are only a few local consumers who have their own credit cards.

Evidently, this makes the local customers very skeptic about shopping online on online malls. It's automatic for an online store to have a secured line for their online credit card transactions. These are the reasons that online customers usually weigh in before deciding if they will shop online. Online shopping has drastically changed ever since Lazada online mall came into that picture a year ago. Once they arrived in the country, they brought with them a solution that will solve the local Ecommerce issues in the country.

An alternative payment method was introduced to solve most of the Ecommerce issues in the Philippines. Cash on Delivery was the alternative payment method that they were banking on to help them penetrate the local online market. With this kind of payment setup, customers won't worry and will definitely feel secured. This also allows first time customers to try them out without putting too much risk from their end since they don't need to expose their credit card details. So how does it work for the customers? Any online customer can visit their website and view their huge selections. Customers don't need to worry that they need to pay upfront once they know what to buy on the website.

If customers happen to select Cash on Delivery as their preferred payment method, they won't be required to pay upfront before their orders are processed for delivery. As long as customers have provided their shipment details, they can just wait for their orders to arrive at their doorstep, which usually takes two to five days. Customers will only be subject to pay in cash once their orders are handed over to them upon delivery. Customers can avail free delivery if their orders go beyond one thousand pesos. It's good to know for customers that they get to hold their money up until their orders arrived at their doorstep. Online stores usually have the advantage on these online deals, which makes this setup very unconventional.
