Shopping
will always be part of our lifestyle. These may be things that we buy out of
necessity or luxury. Let’s all admit it, we all love doing shopping! To some it
even releases their stress for a short while. Well, mostly for women. Going to
traditional malls is like paradise for them as they shop around each boutique
they feel like buying something. Although shopping brings great joy to most of
us, it can’t be denied that it is very tiring to do. Not to mention, spending
more time and energy when shopping. Now, it is made available in online. Online
shopping is actually a very helpful alternative for people in address their
shopping needs. People now can control their schedule and time. For them, working
at nighttime is their day time to us. These are the customers who work on
graveyard shift. However, they can't go to malls during regular hours and are
only free when it’s closed. They just can't visit the malls anytime they want.
These
traditional malls are only visited during the time when they don't have work.
This is clearly harder for people who work on different time schedule. Now that
online shopping is rising, it's good for these kinds of customers who have a
weird schedule. Most offline business is now being made available to online as
well. Surprisingly, this only occurred since last year in the country. I
strongly believe it happened when Lazada Online Mall arrived in the country.
Lazada is one of the first online malls in the country to serve our local
online users. Some South East Asia countries also have it on their country.
After they arrived in the country, Ecommerce immediately grew exponentially.
The local online scene was never the same again after they arrived. Since the
competition is lesser compared to other country, it's only natural to have it
launched in the country.
Their
challenge is how they will lure Internet users to visit their online mall. It
was hard for them to lure people since online payment is a trouble for most
online users. What makes it difficult for them is that their credit card and
personal information are exposed online. The majority of the population here in
the country doesn’t even have their own credit cards. This is why Ecommerce
never took off early since customers have limited payment options. It doesn't
mean that the local Internet users are unaware of online transactions. We don't
give online malls a second chance since we consider risk and disregard reward
right away.
It
is pretty clear that we don't trust online stores right away. For us, all
online malls are just put up to scam local Internet users. These combinations
can easily tell to investors that it will be hard to penetrate the local
market. The Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall came out with something to solve
these Ecommerce woes that plagued the country for so long. They are one of the
first online stores to offer Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. as an alternative
payment method. Unlike other online malls, this won't require customers to pay
right away.
