Is it OK for local customers to choose online shopping over the conventional offline shopping? It will probably unacceptable to most consumers to consider online shopping if they were given these options. Online malls should have the credibility to back them in order for customers to even consider them. It's a challenge for customers to accept online shopping since it's no secret that online frauds and scams can happen in online. Unlike other countries, there are only a few local consumers who have their own credit cards. It makes it clear to everyone on why local customers really have a hard time trying online shopping. Online malls should always have a secured credit card transaction for customers to find them trustworthy.

Online malls are usually weigh in from these details before a customers push through with it. This drastically changed when Lazada was launched in the Philippines a year ago. After their arrival, they had a solution on how they will solve the Ecommerce woes of the country. They offered an alternative payment method that will allow them penetrate the Ecommerce industry. It is what they called Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. Customers will feel secured with this kind of payment setup with them. No need for risking too much from the customer's end and will allow them to try their service easily since they won't need to submit their credit card details. So how does it work for the customers? Their local online customers can go directly to their website with its huge selection. Customer can actually pay later and doesn't need to pay right away once they are set on what they want to buy.

Once customers chose Cash on Delivery as their payment option, they will just be required to giveaway their shipment details and have them pay later on once it gets delivered to them. Customers can relax as soon as they provide their shipment details and wait for its arrival, which is around two to five days upon order date. As order packages are handed over to customers, that’s the only time they will need to pay for their orders via cash payment. If orders exceed one thousand pesos, customers won't have to pay for the delivery fee. It's very assuring for customers that they can keep their money up until their orders arrived at their home. It's actually surprising to see that an online store will agree to have this kind of setup with their customers.

They continue to provide more flexible payment option wherein they re-opened PayPal delivery and have even tied up with MegaLink to make it easier for their customers. They also managed to improve on their customer service, which was their weakest link when they were in initially starting their business in the country.
