Lazada Philippines: A rare setup between an online customer and an online store

Shopping has always been part of our culture. It only varies whether you are shopping for necessities or just for luxury. With that in mind, will online shopping be able to level with the satisfaction we get from traditional shopping? If this were asked in the mid 2000, a lot of us would have said no on online shopping. It is very important for online malls to have a credible reputation for customers to consider shopping at their store. Online malls are actually scary to deal with since a there's a chance some of them are just scams and frauds. It's even harder for most consumers to shop online since they don't have any credit cards. It’s not because the majority of the population can’t buy at all. It’s just that we prefer to pay in cash and get what we want in real time. It’s another story about the security that customers usually question in online.

It's no surprise that a lot of the first time customers asks themselves a lot of question before proceeding on their online shopping. Actually, there is certain measurement that customers conduct like if the online stores have a safe and secured line for credit card transactions. These are the issues that online customers consider before going with online shopping. The perception in online shopping drastically changed when website like Lazada arrived in the country last year. Once they arrived in the country, they brought with them a solution that will solve the local Ecommerce issues in the country. It’s actually a widely known payment method in the country. However, it was only used in offline transactions and mostly on fast food delivery services.

Their alternative payment method solved both of the major issues in the local Ecommerce. They referred to it as Cash on Delivery while other customers usually call it C.O.D. People can actually trust them with this kind of setup in online. By having this option, customers are not required to surrender their credit card details and can try their service without risking too much. How can it make it easier for customers? They can select from the huge selection of their website. Customers who already know what to buy on the website won't need to pay it right away.

Once the customer selects the “Cash on Delivery” as their form of payment method, the website only asks only a couple of details from them which is the name of the recipient of the order and the preferred shipping address. Customers can receive their orders between two to five days after completing the delivery details; some even encountered same day delivery. Customers will only be subject to pay in cash once their orders are handed over to them upon delivery. As long as it exceeds one thousand pesos, they will cover delivery fee. Customer can feel assured that they have security on their money since they can keep it up until their orders arrived. It's actually rare to see this kind of setup between a customers and online store were customers have the advantage.
