Cashless? No problem. Lazada has a solution for you

I’d like to call myself as a contrarian because I relish on going against the normal flow of things. I march to the beat of a different drum and to make matters worse figuratively speaking, I march to the beat of a different drum on the off beaten track now how non-conformist can I get right? That mantra carries over to the choices that I make usually and especially on the mode of payment that I choose to use when I go online shopping in my preferred online retail store forward slash online shopping mall Lazada Philippines. The normal thing to do of course for most people since the company introduce the cash on delivery payment system is to pay using cash. It is very popular due to its simplicity, convenience and no-nonsense ease of transaction. For me though I prefer paying the other way around, which is through credit cards. Contrary to popular notions that credit card payments is not as safe as it should be, I believe otherwise, I have been using credit cards for so long and I never had not even once experienced getting ripped off or anything like that. I also love the cashless aspect of it, makes me feel so darn sophisticated and cultured plus I get to have the items that I want to buy sooner unlike how it is if I will opt to pay in cash which will take really that long to save especially if I am purchasing a gadget that involves an amount that involves five figures. I don’t like waiting and credit card is the fastest payment method for me.

Lately I have been shopping copiously in Lazada and burning my way through using my arsenal of plastics. I call it arsenal because I got several of those awesome plastic things issued to me by several different final institutions. Anyway you might be wondering why I am so gung-ho about using credit cards online when most people are avoiding its usage as much as possible. Don’t get me wrong, I am not going that rouĂ© simply because I just want to be different in my choices. I still got sense in my head and only use my credit cards in places that I trust so much just like the Philippines’ online shopping mall Lazada Philippines. I do not go around spending indiscriminately without doing my research first. Like what I have said, Lazada is a trusted website and that is why I never had any qualms or doubts using my plastic to pay for my purchases. The website is very safe and from what I have found out when I was doing some research on the website is that they are certified by this online Security Council called PCI-DSS which was put up by five of the biggest financial services provider in the world. The council ensures that consumer credit card information is protected by auditing the company if they are using the latest information safety technologies and protocols. Lazada is undoubtedly safe. That is why I love using their credit card payment system. It is easy, fast, safe and convenient. The only one that I trust.

Lazada Philippines: State of the Ecommerce Nation

As of late, there are a lot online shopping malls coming out from nowhere in the country. It started when big Ecommerce websites were launched last year. One website that we can cite is Lazada. This online mall is also available in Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. Rocket Internet, a German company owned by the Samwer brothers, powers it. Their ads can be seen easily and from anywhere online. They are clearly heavily invested on their online paid marketing channels. They were clearly visible online as they bombard the Internet with their odds. They are really visible online. Their brand quickly boosted online.

Ecommerce in the Philippines was really a challenge for them. The online audience was thin so they really needed to build it up when they arrived in the country. To successfully overcome this, they offered Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. It removed the online payment issues since customers don't necessarily need to pay online the conventional way online. Credit card owners in the Philippines are actually only a fraction of the entire population. It is why the Ecommerce penetration in the past wasn't successful. It was obvious that we weren't ready yet for the Ecommerce industry. It was actually very costly for everyone to have his or her own laptop or smartphones. As the affordable smartphones and netbooks came into the picture, it allowed users to stay online longer. It eventually helped the market audience expand in numbers like how the Ecommerce industry originally wanted in the beginning.

It gave website like Lazada more number of visitors to become potential customers. It definitely was a great move for the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall for timing their launch at the same time the Ecommerce in the country were starting to grow. The arrival of Lazada definitely helped the Ecommerce grow faster than ever. It opened the doors for others to avail online shopping instead of traditional shopping, which they got accustomed to. The realization of the locals was apparent that it needed to consider trying online shopping as well. Since online malls arrived in the country, it eliminated the negative perception in online shopping. Nowadays, they can do it even in their own rooms. Now that users have their very own Internet capable device with Internet connection, they can decide when to shop anytime. Even if competitors are actively competing with them, they still came out as a key player. With the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall, they actually allow their customers to have freedom to choose whether they will pay the conventional or unconventional way online. Conventional online payment is usually done via credit card transaction only.

Online shopping malls usually require their customers to pay them right away before they even process their orders. It is actually the exact opposite in Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. They allow customers to not pay right away and have their orders processed right away without even paying up front. They only need to leave their address and they will process it within 2-5 days. They only have their customers to pay them after they have received their orders right in front of their doorsteps.

Lazada: Online Shopping is soaring high

It's only normal for any individual to select the best online shopping option out there. Moreover, the Ecommerce industry is still at infant stage. Online shopping was never highly considered going a few years back. One reason why it never boomed in the past is because local online stores were rare at that time. The Ecommerce industry started to boom when Lazada invaded South East Asia. They arrived in countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines.  It’s a venture owned by Rocket Internet. They are globally known Ecommerce Company held in Germany. The business model they follow is quite simple. Rocket Internet just copies a successful business model and launches it on other countries where the online service is still missing.

Online users can now take advantage of online shopping with the arrival of the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall in the country. Offline malls became a tradition to us since that's how we got accustomed to growing up. There maybe some influence that came from our parents in shopping at conventional malls. Growing up, we have gotten the perception of shopping on traditional mall from our parents. Since we are now living in this modern digital era, it made everyone's life much easier and faster. With the arrival of online shopping, traditional mall shopping is no longer just the option. Stores like Lazada Mall is one of the top online malls compared to other local online malls.

They offered Cash on Delivery alternative payment method in the Philippines. Online shopping became an option to the local online community. Online customers can now pay in cash as another alternative payment method. Getting scammed online is highly unlikely for customers who want to pay in cash thru Lazada Philippines' Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. It is as simple as just giving the recipient name and shipment address without even paying them upfront. Cash Payments of customers can be done once orders are received by the recipient name. Customers can inspect as long as they want before paying. Only them can open this kind of payment option to customers. It's actually an advantage for any online customers to have this option in this industry.

This is a proof that they are aiming to make sure that Filipinos get a chance to experience the best online shopping option. Since all the risks is on their end, it just shows how legit they are since no other online store would dare take the risk they are showing. As long as delivery value is more than one thousand pesos, Lazada PH will waive the delivery fee. This proves that Lazada is willing to take any chances just to ensure the local online users will consider shopping from them. It is safe to say that they prioritize their customers with the number of upper hand given to them. Compared to other online stores, where they prefer having an upper hand at their customers. As a result, it further inflicts brand and reputation damage to the local online shopping industry.

Payment changes in the online shopping industry

Shopping has never been this great; we now have an alternative option to go online. It's actually rare for customers to have control on time over their shopping experience. Anyone with an unfixed schedule will surely love having this kind of option for them. These are the customers that are seeking opening and closing time flexibility from traditional malls. Since they are unable to attend mall time schedule like normal customers in the country. Probably due to their time demands at work, it doesn't help them on their shopping.

However, this is truly an issue that anyone would welcome if there is a work around that exists. They are the ones who can't shop whenever they want. It's really a challenge for some customers who don't have control on their time. The industry in Ecommerce is beginning to reach its peak. Nowadays, everywhere you look online there is an online store you can go to. Since last year, online shopping started to explode in the online scene. It only changed last year when Lazada was published online. It's the first time that an online mall was launched in the country. They are also available in other big countries in South East Asia. Their online presence really influenced the Ecommerce industry as it begun to rise. Everyone started to realize its impact on the Asian market. It was a great timing for them since the competition was almost zero. It’s a challenge for anyone to penetrate the local online market. It was a new alternative for the local online community that's why online shopping never panned out prior to Lazada's arrival in the country. Customers were actually afraid to use their credit card details since hackers may still their identity and use it for their personal gain. It's actually hard for any Ecommerce company to penetrate the local online market since most of the population is not credit card owners. This really influenced the rise of Ecommerce in the country from the previous years.

We all knew it has been around since the early 2000, but not everyone have tried it yet. The problem here is that we think of it as a risk rather than a reward. Another problem we have is that we don't trust online stores right away; therefore it made the Ecommerce growth slower. Getting scammed is always in our mind since it is no secret to anyone. These are enough reason for any company to convince themselves that it will be a challenge for them. On the other hand, Lazada was actually prepared when they arrived in the country since they offered a game-changing alternative payment method. They introduced Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. that allowed any of their customers to pay in cash instead. This allows customers to only pay them only after they receive the delivery of their orders in real time.

Ecommerce Challenges, surpassed by Lazada

It's only normal that online users seek the best online shopping experience that is available online. Moreover, Ecommerce is just beginning to roll out in the country. Just a few years back, online shopping was never an available option in the Philippines. It's not that we don't want to try it, but only because online malls didn't exist at that time. It all changed when the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall was launched in South East Asia. They can be located in countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines.

They are a venture owned by Rocket Internet. It is a successful Ecommerce Startup company based in Germany. Rocket Internet's business model was quite simple. They clone successful online business model and launch it themselves on countries lacking that online service. The arrival of Lazada Venture in the country is great for us since we can now try online shopping, finally! We used to do Shopping on traditional malls during the early days of online. It became conventional for us to shop on traditional malls since our parent opened our eyes to that option only. As our parents were raising us, they may have transferred this perception on us without realizing it. Now that we are in the Digital and High technology era, it makes our lives way easier. It made our shopping options much flexible than just traditional shopping. They are the only online store that can be relied on compared to others. They successfully introduced C.O.D. in the country.

Online shopping went on the radar with the introduction of C.O.D. No more thinking if you can't pay via credit card since they accept cash payment thru their Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. payment method. Now that customers can pay in cash and not right away, there's no chance that you can be scammed online. Shipment address and recipient are the only needed details by them for customers who opted for Cash on Delivery. Payment in cash can be paid later on as customers receive their actual orders in real time. Customers can inspect before accepting their orders and pay. It's only Lazada who offers this kind of package to online customers. Customers get the upper hand with this kind of setup in this industry.  It proves that they want to prove themselves to local online community that they offer the best online shopping experience for them.

To prove that they can be trusted, they are willing to risk a lot. Also, they are willing to shoulder the delivery fee as long as it exceeds one thousand pesos. This is as legit as it can be for an online store. Now that they are pretty much giving away everything to their customers, it will be hard for any potential customers to still avoid them due to the initial online shopping woes that plagued the country for so long. Not all online malls would go to that extra mile just to convince online users to try them out.
