Lazada Philippines: Online shopping transition

Online malls are coming out from nowhere in the country lately. It had only begun when a lot of huge Ecommerce websites arrived in the country last 2012. Lazada is one of the websites that created enough noise online. It also exists in Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. Powered by Rocket Internet, a German based company known for cloning successful online business models. You may have seen their ads scattered all over online.  Their aggressive online marketing cannot be unnoticed with support from various online channels. It definitely helped them in growing its brand drastically.

Anyone, can see them if you go online. Their brand was quickly lifted to a higher level. Everyone was struggling in Ecommerce at that time before they arrived in the country. It was pretty obvious that they needed to build their audience. For them to overcome this, they introduced Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. It basically eliminated the online payment boundaries even if a user can't pay online the traditional way. Actually, the majority of the population in the Philippines doesn't have their own credit card. This is the reason Ecommerce had a hard time evolving in the country. Ecommerce was just too ahead of us during the past few years. Local brand netbooks and smartphones weren't available yet to the masses during that time. The online users eventually increased their Internet usage as cheap smartphones and netbook became available. As a result, it improved the local online audience for Ecommerce. This increased the number of potential customers of websites such as Lazada. This may been pre-meditated by Lazada as their launch was perfect timing for the rise of Ecommerce in the country.

Lazada's arrival improved the Ecommerce growth to another level ever since they arrived in the country. The local users eventually considered online shopping as well. It became logical for them to avail online shopping to make their shopping more convenient. Online malls availability helped customers realize the power of online shopping. No matter where they went, it allows them to their shopping whenever they feel like it. They manage to decide when to shop as long as they posses an Internet capable device and Internet connection with them. Although a lot of online competitors showed up, they still stood out. It is because they offered their shopping service to anyone thru their very flexible payment method. Going thru history, online payments are usually thru credit cards only. In order for transactions to be processed online, customers are usually required to pay first hand. Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. is actually the other way around. The setup with them is they allow their customers to order as much as they want and have it directly delivered to their homes without paying first. Lazada only need to leave their address and it will be processed it within 2-5 days. Orders from Lazada only required to be paid off by cash by customers once they receive their orders.
